Upgrading Your Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM Libraries from v5.1.0.5 to v6.x
Course Duration: Full day (9am – 5pm)
The purpose of this session is to provide a hands-on introduction to the upgrade process, including the live upgrade of a sample database and an overview of troubleshooting strategies.
Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to
- Describe the process and steps required to upgrade a Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM 5.1.05 library to Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM 6.x.
- Make appropriate changes and settings to apply the Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM Upgrade utility to their environment.
- Modify the additional settings that may be necessary for customized libraries.
- Interpret the log files of this self-analyzing Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM Upgrade utility and use the appropriate troubleshooting strategies.
- Plan and schedule a multi-library upgrade.
- Roll out the client applications.
- Describe the process and steps required to implement a phased migration from Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM 5.1.05 to Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM 6.x.
- Upgrade a standard, lightly customized, Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM 5.1.05 library.

In this technical session participants will
- Describe and use the new Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM Admin choices,
- Create Profile Types and assign Item Types,
- Create Dynamic Views,
- Use the New Features (i.e., Workspace Functionality, Location Save Dialog, etc.) in the User Interfaces, and
- Describe and apply the different Security Enhancements (i.e., Security Markings, Supplemental Markings, and more).

Applying Data Integration Techniques using Livelink ECM – Data Integration (Genio)
Course Duration: ½ day (1pm – 5pm)
Get to know the product that is being used for upgrading Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM libraries from v5.105 to v6.x. The purpose of this session is to provide an introduction to the use of Livelink ECM – Data Integration, an engine-based universal data transformation and exchange tool that brokers information from any source to any target across the entire spectrum of systems within an enterprise. This workshop will not focus on the Livelink ECM – eDOCS DM library upgrade (another pre-conference workshop covers this) but focuses on learning about and working with the Livelink ECM – Data Integration product used in these library upgrades, as well as other uses for this practical tool.
Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to
- Explain the basics of Livelink ECM – Data Integration, its architecture, and the benefits of ETL (extraction, transformation, and loading) technologies.
- Set up connections to various data sources and targets.
- Import, edit, and load database tables into Livelink ECM – Data Integration.
- Create, modify, and configure Livelink ECM – Data Integration projects, processes, and modules.
- Use Livelink ECM – Data Integration datasets to combine homogeneous and/or heterogeneous data.
- Extract and filter invalid data.
- Complete a small, simple Livelink ECM – Data Integration project.
